In short, I'm a born and bred Brightonian. I've been a Barber in Brighton for about 103 years, well it feels like that. In between that time I went to College and studied fine art photography, lived in London for a bit, fell in love with a Brightonian, moved back to Brighton had 2 wonderful kids and went back to Barbering.
Apart from my family my passion has always been photography, I did fall out of love with photography for a while. A few years ago I got an iPhone and started to take photos and experimenting with different apps. I wanted a project, I wanted something to get my juices flowing and something I could get my teeth into. It was obvious, it was right in front of me. I've always loved the view from the Barbershop Window, so many interesting people, different fashions and characters walk past the shop.
I'm always asking myself why show these photographs, is it a egotistical, self centred. Why have a book, why have an exhibition?
I think it's a good collection of work to show people. I have shown my work to other people and they’ve all said that I should show them.
I've always loved the view from the Barbershop Window, so many interesting people, different fashions and characters walk past the shop. I hope to think I’ve captured them in an interesting way and that you would enjoy looking at them.
